The process usually begins with a phone call from a potential client. After describing their wishes we set a time to meet at their home so I can see the existing surroundings and start the design process. Sometimes walls are already blank as in slide 1.
Slide 2 This client had an old mantle she wanted to use as a surround for her flat screen TV. Next she wanted bookshelves to flank either side and match the details of the mantle. An initial sketch is drawn onsite and dimensions taken. Next, drawings are created on the computer along with a proposal for the client.
Slide 3 Once the proposal is accepted and down payment received, the project begins. We start with kiln dried, rough sawn lumber of the chosen species and create a piece of furniture completely finished right here in the shop.
Slide 4 When we deliver, installation is quick, usually less than a day, and sometimes only an hour or two. Recording accurate measurements initially and using templates means a precise build in the shop. This means a clean jobsite (often your living room), with no or very little cutting onsite.
Remaining Slides show the continuation of the process. This installation took 1½ days onsite.
